Don't just have career or accademic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life.
Balanced means ensuring our health, relations and mental peace are all in good order.
There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts.
Life is one of those races in nursery school where we have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive , will start to die.
One thing about nurturing the spark- Don't take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are all temporary here. We are like a prepaid card with limited validity. Do we really need to get so worked up?
It's ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, Enjoy with your friends, fall in love etc.We are people, not programmed devices.

NEVER STOP LEARNING
Look at every situation as an oppurtunity to learn because the more we learn, the more we grow and the wiser we become. Look at life as a journey with so many things to see and experience, we should be out there enjoying every minute of it.
Knowledge does not come from personal experience alone; we can learn from other people and other sources. There is a huge treasure chest of knowledge out there waiting to be discovered and used. Knowledge is at our fingertips, especially in the current age when we have the personal computer and Internet as well as good old-fashioned books.
"HE IS WISE WHO KNOWS THE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE."
Apart from books and computers, we can learn from other people who have had the experience that we seek. This method has a couple of positive points.
1. It does not have to cost you a cent.
2.we can have an insight and gain experience without having to go through the learning curve.
